Lemon, a widely used common kitchen ingredient, has many benefits and is an excellent source of various vitamins and minerals needed by our body.
Benefits of Lemons : Why to Use it?
1. As we all know, Lemons are rich in Vitamin c and are beneficial in getting rid of body toxins.
2. Lemons are of hot potency, this reduce cold and cough.
3. Lemons are combined with Black pepper and Ginger to ail several digestive disorders like gastric issues, constipation and proper assimilation of nutrients.
4. They are helpful in reducing bad breath and ail dental problems like gum pain, toothache etc.
5. It ignites the digestive fire.
6. It helps in assimilation of important minerals like iron.
7. Travellers use lemons to cure nausea and food poisoning.
8. It is useful for Skin glow & facial health.
9. Lemon peels are often used to ail diarrhea.

The Correct way to consume Lemons: How to use it ?
One should follow the following ways to properly consume lemons and to gain its best benefits.
1. According to Ayurveda, lemon tends to be of hot potency, thus if it’s consumed in its ripe form, it reduces Kapha and Vata doshas, while aggravating the Pitta dosha. Whereas, if consumed in its raw form, it reduces pitta & Kapha, but aggravates Vata dosha.
2. In both summer & Winter, lukewarm lemon water with jaggery should be drank regularly.
3. Lemons must not be cooked or put on fire.
4. In winters, a soup of lemon leaves, cumin and a few more spices should be consumed to keep the cold away.
5. Lemons should not be mixed in very cold water.

6. It should be consumed in limited quantities only = 1-1/2 tbsp Or 10-15ml only.
