Use of Sabja Seeds (sweet tulsi seeds)
Introduction-What is sabja?
With the temperature soaring and the heat wave going on, it is essential to stay cool and healthy in this period. While you must consume hydrating antioxidant-rich seasonal fruits, don’t miss out on seeds that are known to address several health issues, and also cool down the body. One of these coolants for our body is sabja or tulsi/basil seeds, also commonly known as falooda seeds. These are a rich source of minerals and other essential cooling components which help us overcome this heat. They are also rich in protein, amino acids, calcium, potassium and magnesium which provide our body with its important minerals.


Benefits of Sabja- Why to use?
Sabja is beneficial for weight loss, providing roughage, controlling blood sugar, helping constipation, prevents bloating, cures hyperacidity, Indigestion, ulcers, heart problems. Consumption-How to use Sabja?
The right consumption of sabja is prominent to prevail the right benefits of it. The right and most effective way to consume sabja is to soak it for 15-20 minutes. After soaking it, we can consume it by either combining it with water, or by adding it in some sort of sherbets, like lemonade or Rose sharbat or a falooda. It can also be consumed with buttermilk. It Pacifies Vata Dosha And Pitta Dosha. It might increase Kapha Dosha.


Warnings-The right way of consuming sabja
While consuming sabja, a few measures must be taken. Prominent measures for right consumptions of sabja are-
It is important to only consume about 1-2 tablespoons of sabja .
It should not be consumed by expecting mothers as it can increase estrogen levels, causing nausea.
Young kids or toddlers might choke on these if not well mixed.


These little changes and new habits in our diet can be responsible for major prominent changes. As we all might know now, Sabja is very healthy and beneficial for us all. These ayurvedic remedies for our health are small changes which make big differences.
